At the beginning of the 19th century, Symphorien Chauvenet, master cooper of Nuits-Saint-Georges, married Françoise Roy, a wine grower. A few vines in the wedding basket, Françoise looks after the farm, what a woman! The roots of the Maison are in the Côte de Nuits, in Nuits-Saint-Georges. It thus enjoys a unique position, in the heart of the vineyards that produce the best red Grands Crus of Burgundy.
